Drunk, hit-and-run Audi driver in crash with Volvo on the Vilnius–Panevėžys road
On Friday, 11 May 2018, in the evening at 18:40, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Volvo XC90. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Audi (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
