On Sunday, 24 June 2018, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 108.12), a BMW 520 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
