On Tuesday, 17 July 2018, in the evening at 20:03, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 67.45), a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a car and a BMW 320D. Three people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the BMW (severely injured, hospitalized), a 36-year-old passenger of a car (hospitalized) and the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of a car, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
