On Thursday, 2 August 2018, at night at 2:19, in Šilalės district municipality, Bytlaukio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 227.75), an Iveco 440 registered in Poland ran off the road. One person was injured — the 36-year-old driver of the Iveco (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Iveco (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
