On Friday, 3 August 2018, in the evening at 18:50, in Šakių district municipality, Valiulių village, on Valiulių street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Seat Ibiza and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Seat (1 year of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
