On Sunday, 5 August 2018, at night at around 2:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Marcinkonių village, on Miškininkų street near No. 46, a BMW 318CI hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
