On Wednesday, 15 August 2018, in the evening at 22:45, in Kretingos district municipality, on Žemaitės street near No. 39, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a Chrysler 300C. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
