On Saturday, 18 August 2018, in the morning at 7:12, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 24.95), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 206 and a Volvo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.58‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
