On Sunday, 19 August 2018, in the afternoon at 15:56, in Alytaus district municipality, Žagarių village, on Nemuno street, at the junction with Gojų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Rover 75 and a Suzuki Grand Vitara. Two people were injured — a 26-year-old passenger of the Suzuki (treated as an outpatient) and the 27-year-old driver of the Suzuki (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Rover, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (0.67‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
