On Friday, 24 August 2018, in the evening at 20:15, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 288), a car ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of a car, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
