On Sunday, 16 September 2018, in the morning at 7:05, in Utenos district municipality, Utenėlės village, on the Utena–Pakalniai–Alanta regional road (kilometre 6.10), an Audi 80 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
