On Saturday, 22 September 2018, in the afternoon at 14:15, in Prienų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 112.50), a Renault Espace rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.24‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
