On Saturday, 13 October 2018, in the evening at 17:18, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Mataičių village, on Klevų street near No. 16, a Toyota Corolla hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 46-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Toyota (33 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
