On Monday, 12 November 2018, in the afternoon at 15:39, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 47.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Volvo S60 (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.66‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
