MAN TGS truck and Nissan crash on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė road
On Friday, 16 November 2018, in the evening at around 20:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 70.30), a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGS and a Nissan Sunny. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the MAN (25 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
