On Monday, 3 December 2018, at night at 23:09, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 51.15), a Nissan Primera ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Nissan (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
