On Friday, 4 January 2019, in the afternoon at 11:11, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 250.90), a Lexus RX400h ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Lexus (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
