On Thursday, 17 January 2019, at night at around 23:00, in Kaunas, on V. Krėvės pr. near No. 79, in a yard, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E 200 CDI and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (7 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
