On Sunday, 3 February 2019, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 85, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Volkswagen Jetta. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was icy.
