On Friday, 21 December 2018, in the morning at 8:33, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 25), a Hyundai i 30 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Hyundai (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
