On Sunday, 3 March 2019, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on S. Daukanto street near No. 20, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a MTZ Belarus-552 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the MTZ (25 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
