On Monday, 22 April 2019, in the evening at around 18:00, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Purpliai regional road (kilometre 2), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 45-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene.
