On Monday, 29 July 2019, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Klaipėda, on Pilies street near No. 3, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy and a Peugeot 407. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
