On Thursday, 10 October 2019, in the evening at 20:45, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Nepriklausomybės square, at the junction with Kauno street, an Audi A6 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Audi. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 25-year-old passenger of the Audi was drunk (2.59‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
