On Friday, 18 October 2019, in the evening at 21:23, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Tirkšliai–Bugeniai regional road (kilometre 1), a Peugeot 406 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
