On Tuesday, 17 December 2019, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Bažnyčios street, at the junction with Rytų street, a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Ford Fiesta and a Fiat Freemont. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 81-year-old driver of the Ford (30 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
