On Tuesday, 24 December 2019, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 120), a Volkswagen Phaeton ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
