On Friday, 3 January 2020, in the afternoon at 13:21, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 97.43), a falling cargo occurred. The accident involved an Opel, a Wielton NS 34S and a DAF FT XF105. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the DAF (2 years of driving experience), who violated cargo-transport rules. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
