On Tuesday, 21 January 2020, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 70, a Mitsubishi Colt hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 63-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (25 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
