Unlicensed Volkswagen driver hits a parked BMW and flees in Gerviškių village
On Sunday, 16 February 2020, in the afternoon at 15:10, in Šalčininkų district municipality, Gerviškių village, on Centrinė street near No. 1, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 525 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
