On Sunday, 8 March 2020, in the afternoon at 14:02, in Anykščių district municipality, Svėdasų town, on Ežero street near No. 40, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 37-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen was drunk (2.23‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
