On Sunday, 15 March 2020, in the evening at 18:12, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 92.25), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz, a KIA Motors Ceed registered in Poland and a Volvo FH12 registered in Poland. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (4 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
