On Friday, 20 March 2020, in the morning at around 8:00, in Šiauliai, on Žalgirio street near No. 8, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Carisma and a Nissan Almera Tino. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
