On Sunday, 5 April 2020, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Šakių district municipality, Bunikių village, on Pajotijo street near No. 14, a Volvo V70 registered in Sweden ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Volvo, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.29‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
