On Saturday, 20 June 2020, in the evening at around 22:00, in Šiauliai, on Vilniaus street near No. 32, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touran and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
