On Wednesday, 17 June 2020, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 13.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 3ER Reihe and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
