On Saturday, 27 June 2020, in the afternoon at 12:45, in Kaunas, on Marijampolės pl., at the junction with Energijos street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Volvo S60 and a Toyota Corolla Verso. Two people were injured — the 47-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and a 44-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Jeep (16 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.59‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
