On Saturday, 27 June 2020, in the evening at around 18:00, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 61, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D and a Volkswagen Passat Variant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
