On Tuesday, 30 June 2020, in the afternoon at 16:13, in Utenos district municipality, Medenių village, on Pievų street near No. 4, an Opel Tigra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.04‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 37-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (2.42‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
