On Saturday, 18 July 2020, in the evening at 17:40, in Klaipėda, on Naujakiemio street near No. 13, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla and a Mitsubishi Colt. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Toyota (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.90‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
