On Tuesday, 21 July 2020, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 204.60), in a roadworks zone, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Mercedes-Benz V 220 CDI, a Tiki Treiler C-275LP and a Lexus GS 450 H. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Tiki Treiler (24 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
