On Tuesday, 21 July 2020, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Salantų street near No. 28, an Iveco hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 34-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Iveco (32 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
