On Friday, 7 August 2020, in the morning at around 7:00, in Ignalinos district municipality, Dietkauščiznos village, on Saulėtekio street, at the junction with Šiulgų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (25 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
