On Monday, 31 August 2020, in the morning at 5:30, in Kauno district municipality, Babtų town, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 117), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 315 CDI, a Tauras 700-02S and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
