On Saturday, 5 September 2020, in the evening at around 21:00, in Zarasų district municipality, Smalvų village, on Dvaro street near No. 5, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.11‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
