On Monday, 14 December 2020, in the evening at 17:24, in Šilutės district municipality, on Turgaus street near No. 7, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Qashqai and an Opel Corsa. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Nissan (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
