On Thursday, 7 January 2021, in the afternoon at 16:40, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 125), a Scania R 164LA hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Scania (28 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
