On Wednesday, 20 January 2021, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Iždonų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 219), a Toyota Yaris hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Toyota (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
