On Friday, 22 January 2021, in the evening at 21:30, in Kupiškio district municipality, Šaukliškių village, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 81), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 registered in Germany and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who violated stopping or parking rules. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
