On Saturday, 30 January 2021, in the evening at 21:38, in Utenos district municipality, on Taikos street near No. 42, a Volkswagen Touareg hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He refused a sobriety test and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
